Red or Green?

Did you know that New Mexico is the only state with a state question? Yes. We are super proud of that fact... I know. It sounds dumb, but I honestly love chili, so the question "red or green?" somehow always makes me smile... even though it is super cheesy that we have a state question. I am in love with green chili... but this blog is not actually about chili. I know. I tricked you all (whoever "you all" is...). Anyways, I bought a bag of M&M's, which for me isn't too shocking... I mean, they are like my favorite candy after all- and I was inspired to write a blog about them!

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona. Surprise! All this time you all thought I was a New Mexican! I'm not! I'm an Arizona girl! That's why snow and I do not get along at all. I'm all about the sunshine. Haha. Anyways, all of my parents family live in Arizona. They both grew up there. My dad's parents lived in Mesa, so we would always visit them. One memory from my childhood was being at my grandfather's house around Christmas time and eating Christmas M&M's- the green and red ones. I can still taste them. They were so good. He kept them up on the shelf, high enough that I couldn't reach, but low enough that he could get them for me when I asked. Whenever I am driving and I see the green and red traffic lights, that memory flashes into my head and I can taste the delicious M&M's in my mouth again. They don't make M&M's like they used to... or those ones had my grandfather's love in them, because whenever I eat M&M's now they just aren't as good as the ones I would eat at my grandfather's house.

I just wanted to give a shout out to my Grandpa Elizondo. I miss him everyday. I'm so grateful to have such a loving family, and such happy memories with all of them :) Merry Christmas everyone!
