Unoriginal Title
I finally got a job. I haven't really been announcing it to the world because, (1) most people really don't care, and (2) I'm still waiting on my background check to clear first, so I've kind of been hesitant to say anything until I sign the paperwork. I just know today I'm going to get the call that says my background check didn't clear. Oh joy. Lol. Anyways, I'm working at a museum now. It's way exciting. It's the new one at the University of Utah. Sooo beautiful. We had our first day of training yesterday. It was mostly like the first day of school, where all the rules were read out loud and we took a tour of the museum. I loved touring the museum. Everyone should go! It's amazing inside. We weren't allowed to take pictures because it is supposed to be a surprise, but it is amazing, trust me.
After training I was stuck in Salt Lake- oh I still don't have my own apartment, so my best friend, Chris, is letting me live at her apartment in Sandy for the time being. Anyways, so I hung out at the University of Utah all day. I am so grateful I went to BYU-Idaho, because other college campuses scare me. Everyone dresses either like a slut, an athlete, or like they just rolled out of bed. I even had the pleasure of getting to have a conversation with a gay man dressed as a woman. It was delightful *sarcasm sarcasm sarcasm*. As I was sitting there I read the school newspaper. You know, it's funny. For years I spent all that time talking trash about the Scroll, BYU-I's newspaper, and I finally read a newspaper from another school and it turns out BYU-I isn't the only one that doesn't know how to write. It was kind of disappointing to see that. I wish the media would get off their high horse. Please. You are not the rulers of the world, nor the cool kids on the block just because you wrote a 500 word article. I have written numerous 10-15 page papers in the last three years- you don't see me begging for a medal, or even demanding you read that. Just because your voice can be out there doesn't mean that you should let it.
Which brings me to another pet peeve. I am sooo sick of Facebook. It is so boring. Everyone posts the same thing as their status: "It's snowing," "Someone famous died," "I'm tired," ...blah blah blah. People, just because you have a voice does not make you the media- but thanks for turning on MSN or Yahoo or CNN or FOX... whatever you watch. It's nice to know you are being informed, or can open your eyes to see the weather. Guess what? I do that too! I really don't need your input on that. It just seems people are so unoriginal today. What happened to thinking outside the box? People today are so boring. Yes, I said it. Sorry to any of my friends who read this and get upset, but seriously? If you want to broadcast the news, become a reporter. I did not join Facebook to read the news, contrary to what all of my friends may think. I really do not need this as your status. Please do not waste time. It is stupid. There, I said that too. Plain STUPID. Ok. So next time you see everyone else with the same status please do not copy and paste, please do not look at the first ten friends on your wall, please do not tell me the weather, and please please please- learn how to spell.
